Kris called us last night with the big news. Little Emilia was born yesterday, June 20 at 8:27 pm, at 6 lbs, 8 oz, 19 inches long. Lyne and Emilia are both doing fine, and Kris is a proud Papa. I’m sure some pictures will be posted soon.
Okay, so here’s the latest. I started my new job in Perth a few weeks ago. They do things so differently than in Peterborough, so I’m still learning a lot. The people are nice and every day gets a little better. We listed our house in Peterborough last Monday and had 3 offers by Tuesday. We took the best one, which was just a little above our listing price! Needless to say, we’re pleased that it went so well. But I must say, Bill did a lot of work on the house, and it was looking pretty good. Just today we rented a little 2 bedroom apartment in Perth, because we’ve decided we’re going to buy a lot and build on it. We saw some lots on Hwy 43, just 10 minutes outside of Perth, that we like. We’ll move into our apartment this weekend. Tomorrow night I’m joining an exercise class that’s taught in a high school 2 nights a week. I really miss Goodlife. Bill’s eager to get into the Perth Dart scene. We still have to decide on a church. I think Brockville might be the closest? Everything’s so far away! So that’s about it for now in the life of the nomads….Bill and Clare
Some rather big news for Bill and I. We’re moving again! I just accepted a job in Perth, still with Hydro One. My start date is January 8. It will be good to be closer to the family again!
Hey Ho, all…. I haven’t been posting because my life seems a bit mundane these days. I took a 3 day training course in Brampton last week for a new system we’ll be using at work. Information overload! Bill and I tried to visit Dennis & Trudy in Tillsonburg after the first day’s session, but after driving for an hour, the traffic came to a standstill. It was foggy and there was an accident. Bill (Mr. Patience) took the first exit off and we ended up on some back roads with a whole convoy of cars following us. He then handed me the map and said that I should find us a good detour route. Does he know who he’s talking to?? There weren’t even any signs naming these dirt roads. I’m not exactly a human GPS as most of you know. We did eventually find our way back to the 401, and it was still at a standstill, so we turned around and came back to Brampton. Trudy was not happy with that decision, but we’ll try again another day.
Last night there were a lot of power outages in the area. I worked the night shift (midnight to 8:00 am) to help with the dispatching and tracking. I’m wondering if any of you in Eastern Ontario were without power this weekend?
I’ll leave you with some holiday advice that I got today from my 3 year old nephew Nathan. “Ho, ho, hold the payments!”
I’m posting this picture of Laura and Bill from last summer just because I think it’s cute.
On Sep 7/06 Bill and I flew to Willmar, Minnesota to visit Laura, Mitch and little Mollie Clare Schwitters, our first grandchild. Opa and Oma Don came too. We had a wonderful visit and got our fill of little Mollie. It was hard to leave!
